First few photo’s from a recent photoshoot on the beach with model Lesley. The whether wasn’t quite in our favour, however due to some high standard flash technique’s we’ve managed to make it instant summer.. 🙂

Our biggest problem now is to sort out all photo’s and will we publish in black&white or color?

Fitness shoot with model Lisanne

All photo’s in this serie are shot with Nikon, Sigma and Elinchrom material. As allway’s a big thanks for all info and supplies to fotoflits.nl and abig thanks to Lisanne as well. Due to the elinchrom HS function it was possible to work with a wide open aperture of 2,8 / 4 while shutter speeds went up as high as 1/2000 (yes 1/2000!) and shoot direct into the sunlight as you can see in the photo above. The flash was only set to half power to overpower the sun.. If that doesn’t make you smile..

Hopefully I’ll find time soon to write a complete story on the Elinchrom HS technique..

Just a few examples of HSS mode that can be used from with the correct transmitter and (hs)flashhead from Elinchrom. These photo’s are all taken with shutterspeeds from 1/1600 up to 1/8000 and all you have to do is put the Elinchrom HS trigger on your camera (Nikon in my case) and put the flash settings on FP (*1/320) but FP 1/250 will as well.

  As you can see, despite the dark sky there is still plenty of light on the model and still it’s possible to open up the Diafragm wide open (f2,8)

 these photo’s are shot from 1,5 hrs before sundown right thru till sundown, all shot right against the sun without ending up with silhouettes.

 So, movement is no issue in your photography when picking up the right gear..

It allso gives you lots of freedom to move around as the battery packs are quite light but yet powerfull! (up to approx. 350 full flashes on every battery!)

So, gear up, and start shooting.. 🙂

Fashion outdoor using High Speed Sync technique

Using Elinchrome Quadra’s and HS heads it’s possible to overpower the sun withhout blowing out on the sky due to the 1/200 limitation..

The shot above is iso 200, f3,2 and 1/3200 shot with a Nikon D800 she shot below is shot @ the same settings but no flash.

I have pushed the HS heads allready to 1/8000 in a backlight situation, it works like a charm!

I have state.. thanks Fotoflits (the Netherlands) for all your help and advice on the Elinchrome sets

Finally! it took quite a lot of photoshop work to create this one.. But I ‘am really happy with the result.

After some requests for (studio) light set ups.. here is the first one,

To be honest, the reflector adds hardly or no light at all, but is still in the picture.. :-/ The grid on the right side add quite a lot of light an slightly overpowrs the beautydish (also with grid). The blue gel was added to bring more harmony in color as the lips are blue as well.

This Cyber girl was created as a try out for for some photoshop tools / skills.
